Wendy Irvine was born in the tiny village of Grafton, Ontario. At the tender age of 3 she began her performance career singing and dancing in hospitals, churches and senior citizens homes. With her mother accompanying her on the piano she also entertained for community events, later adding her two sisters into the mix as well. Wendy quickly became an active member of the local music and entertainment scene and before long was a familiar name in the Cobourg and Port Hope area. She has now been performing professionally for 15 years throughout Canada and beyond.
* Although her voice is her very first instrument, the piano is a close second. She began to play and study with the Royal Conservatory of Music at the age of 5 and accompanied the Northumberland Children's Orchestra by the age of 12. Wendy also studied the clarinet for eight years and has always been eager to learn more when it comes to music (recently taking up lessons on both the guitar and bass guitar). In addition, Wendy also took on the role of teacher herself, beginning at the age of 15 when she began to teach voice and piano at the local music academy. She entered York University on a vocal performance scholarship and here her talents shone as she had the pleasure of exploring her new-found passion for jazz as well as learning and experiencing traditional musics of the world.

From ages thirteen through eighteen, Wendy was a member of a semi-professional girls' choir (La Jeunnesse) that toured overseas, won international choral awards, and recorded the first of the choirs' cds. She has had the pleasure of traveling extensively with her music, performing across Canada and the United States as well as throughout Europe.
* The entertainment world has quite literally always been a second home to Wendy. Her first taste of a theatrical stage came at age 8, when she played in the musical 'Annie', followed directly by her first recording job on a Christmas album with Anne Edwards. She has now performed in over 15 different musicals, has won countless awards for both vocal and piano performance, has recorded numerous albums (including one of her own), demos, radio commercials and so on, and has performed with over 25 bands, orchestras, choirs, trios and duos. She has also had leading roles in two feature films, several short films and commercials, and has produced stage shows and events in both her home town as well as in Toronto. * Currently, in addition to performing regularly with 'soulshine', Wendy and her two sisters perform as the 'Moonglows' (or simply The Irvine Sisters) in the 'Kings of Swing' big band show, paying tribute to the swing era including the Andrews Sisters. She is also playing a leading role in and touring with the show 'The Stardust Follies' with Diamond Entertainment.
